NCERT Class 6 to 12th Social Science Syllabus: National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has prepared the syllabus for teaching and learning on subjects like political science, sociology, psychology, geography and history for classes 6 to 12. A committee of 35 members has been established. The 19-member NSTC was informed in July to prepare the syllabus, textbooks and teaching materials for these classes. The newly established Curriculum Area Group (CAG) for Social Sciences will be chaired by Michel Danino, Visiting Professor, IIT-Gandhinagar.

NSTC has a minimum of 11 curriculum area groups in different subjects. These CAGs have already been constituted for Social Sciences, Indian Knowledge System (IKS) and new pedagogy and teaching materials. NCERT is in the process of finalizing the textbook content taken from the NCF developed earlier by the committee. NCERT is also revising the syllabus in line with NEP 2020. NSTC and NCERT have been given time till 25 November 2023 to submit the syllabus.
