Tamil Nadu School Closed: It is raining heavily in many districts of Tamil Nadu. Due to which, on November 9, schools have been closed in five districts including Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Madurai, Theni and Dindigul as well as some areas of Nilgiris on Thursday. An order has been issued in this regard. According to ANI report, Madurai District Collector Sangeeta has also announced holiday in all the schools of the district on Thursday.
According to the India Meteorological Department, heavy rains are likely to continue in Tamil Nadu till November 9. Apart from Tamil Nadu, IMD has also issued an alert for heavy rain in Kerala, Puducherry and Karaikal, coastal and south Karnataka, besides Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Earlier, IMD had also issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall (115.6 to 204.4 mm) in Kerala on November 8. Its IMD had also issued orange alert for Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
Here, schools have been closed in Delhi-NCR due to poor air quality index (AIQ). Apart from the national capital, offline classes have also been suspended in Gurugram, Faridabad and Noida. Delhi government has also declared winter vacation for schools from November 9 to November 18.
