AICTE Chairman Professor TG Seemaram said that big companies do not go for placement drives in colleges in rural and tribal areas. For this reason a special AICTE placement portal has been prepared. Through the portal, thousands of job options will be made available to students sitting at home. This portal will act as a bridge between students and employers. This will help students to connect directly with multinational companies. The portal has been designed on the basis of rural environment. Apart from this, students will get information in their own language. AICTE helpline will also be available to assist students. According to a report on higher education, there are a total of 42,343 colleges in India, out of which about 26,000 (60.56 percent) colleges are in rural areas. Thus, about two-thirds of the students study in rural and tribal areas.

Will also be connected to AICTE internship portal

The portal will also soon be linked to the National Internship Portal of AICTE. It has also been made user friendly, so that even ordinary students can access it easily. There will be no need for high speed internet connectivity here. Features like networking tools, career counselling, interview tips etc. have also been included in it.
