The students who will cooperate in this unique program will be given a certificate from the respective technical college and university. Besides, credit will also be added to their result. Students studying various undergraduate and postgraduate programs in AICTE affiliated colleges will be linked to the literacy campaign.
The students who cooperate in the scheme will be called volunteers. Therefore, to encourage such volunteers, technical colleges and state governments can give certificates. In the Union Budget 2022, a new scheme named ‘Nav Bharat Literacy Programme’ was approved, linking all aspects of adult education with the National Education Policy and budgetary announcements for the year 2021-22.
Benefits of Credit in Community Contact and Service
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has recommended connecting students with other important responsibilities apart from studies and research work. Students can be added under Community Contact and Service. Its objective is to connect the students with the society and learn to help the common people move forward. In this, students will develop a sense of responsibility and they will learn to help others.
