The University Grants Commission (UGC) has sought reports from all universities and higher educational institutions on 10 subjects including legal, vigilance, ragging, student complaints, non-refund of fees.

UGC has issued instructions to all higher educational institutions to send updated reports of these 10 subjects. This is the first time that the Commission has sought reports from universities.
The proposal came in the UGC Council meeting
On behalf of UGC Secretary Professor Manish Joshi, a letter has been issued late on Tuesday evening to all the higher educational institutions to submit the report. It is written that this proposal came in the 572nd meeting of the UGC Council held recently.
Therefore information will have to be given
Under this, all higher educational institutions have been instructed to register their legal, vigilance, statement of accounts, non-implementation of UGC regulations, any kind of complaint, grievance redressal mechanism, appointment of ombudsman, internal complaint committee, UGC Under the rules, information will have to be given on issues related to the policy of non-refund of fees and what types of complaints were received regarding ragging and how these cases were resolved.
