Recently, a petition was filed in the Delhi High Court to conduct the CLAT exam in regional languages ​​other than English. In response to which the agency has said that CLAT 2024 entrance exam can be conducted in Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada and other regional languages. An affidavit regarding this has also been filed in the High Court by the agency.

In fact, in this entire matter, the bench of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Subramaniam Prasad had asked NTA to file an affidavit. Questioning the matter, the bench said that when the entrance examination for medical and engineering courses can be conducted in regional languages, then why not CLAT? After all, why is this examination being conducted in English only?

Responding to this question, NTA informed the court that it has a group of experts and translators to prepare question papers in multiple languages. In such a situation, if the upcoming examination has to be conducted in regional languages, then it can probably be conducted in the third or fourth week. Because it may take maximum 4 months to prepare the question paper.
