IAS & IPS: Indian Administrative Service and Indian Police Service are very prestigious services in themselves. Whether it is IAS or IPS, the candidate has to work hard to get recruited in both the services and success in UPSC exam (Success) has to be achieved. But the tasks in both these services are different.
Talking about IAS officers, IAS help in public administration and policy making and implementation. The training session for IAS officers is conducted at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBNSAA) located in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand. As a part of regular IAS training, a number of tasks are done to make them sharp and dedicated officers. IAS is allotted to the candidates who have the highest rank in the UPSC exam. An IAS officer is assigned to government departments and ministries. IAS is (Topmost Position) in all the administrative services.
IPS Officers are commanded to investigate crime and maintain peace and security in that area. IPS officers are trained at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) located in Hyderabad Telangana. After the allotment for IAS is done, other top rank holders are allotted IPS. An IPS officer is a part of the Police Department. IPS comes in rank after IAS.
