UP Schools Reopen: In view of the effective reduction in the rate of corona infection, the state government has decided to open schools-colleges and universities of all classes from class nine to higher. Additional Chief Secretary Home Avnish Kumar Awasthi issued an order in this regard late on Saturday night.
This new order has been issued modifying the earlier order to keep all educational institutions closed till February 6. It has been said that all schools up to class 9, 10, 11 and 12 and all degree colleges and universities of higher classes strictly follow the Corona guidelines like mandatory mask and other instructions issued from time to time including setting up of Kovid help desk. It will be open till further orders from 7th February.
Earlier, due to the third wave of Corona, the state government had ordered the closure of all educational institutions till February 6. During this period, schools and colleges were only allowed to conduct online classes. For the prevention of corona infection, an order was issued to keep all educational institutions closed from January 4 to January 16. It was then extended till January 23, January 30 and February 6 respectively. In this way, after more than a month, schools and colleges will reopen from Monday.
Bihar Schools Reopen:
The state government has decided to remove most of the corona restrictions imposed 32 days ago. Educational institutions above 9th standard will open with full capacity. The restriction of time limit for opening of shops has also been abolished. Malls, gyms, cinema halls, parks and sports complexes will also open. It has been decided to open religious places for devotees. Instead of 50, 200 people have been allowed to attend the wedding ceremony and shradh. Social, religious and other events can also be held with prior permission. The new guideline will be effective from February 7 to 13.
A meeting of the State Disaster Management Group (CMG) was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday to review the corona infection. In this meeting held through video conferencing, it was decided to relax the restrictions. Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad, Renu Devi, Education Minister Vijay Chaudhary, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Chief Secretary Aamir Subhani, Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department Pratyaya Amrit and other officials were present in the meeting. First of all, the Chief Minister himself shared the information about the easing of restrictions by tweeting. After this, Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department Chaitanya Prasad gave detailed information in the press conference.
Key points of Bihar government’s decision:
High schools and colleges will open at full capacity.
Schools up to class VIII will open with 50 percent attendance.
The coaching institutes will be divided into two parts, coaching from ninth to above will open at full capacity.
Night curfew lifted, malls-gym-cinema halls will also open.
Restaurants, cinema halls and gyms will open with 50 percent capacity.
200 people will be present in social events like weddings.
