IAS Officer: Only after clearing the UPSC exam, an IAS officer is selected on the basis of the final cut off. After this Lal Bahadur Shastri Training Academy (LBSNAA) is called for training in Mussoorie. According to the cut off, they get the post of IAS, IPS and IFS. An IAS starts his career with district training in the allotted cadre after training at Lal Bahadur Shastri Academy present in Mussoorie. After which the officers start work as Deputy District Magistrate (SDM) in the state administration. If the appointment of SDM is received, then the officer is given the responsibility of law and order of the tehsil.
After district training, IAS officers work as assistant secretaries in the central government for 03 months. After which they get appointment to DM or any other post. IAS officers can be appointed in government departments or ministries. While working here, they may be posted on deputation to the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the Asian Development Bank, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and the United Nations and its agencies.
