RRB Group D Exam 2022: Earlier 5 lakh candidates had applied and now there is controversy due to change in selection process

The written examination to be held from February 23 for recruitment to 1.03 lakh Group D posts in Indian Railways has been postponed. In fact, the candidates were very angry due to the sudden addition of one more stage written test (CBT 2) in this recruitment by the Railways and they also protested a lot. Seeing the increasing anger of the candidates, the Railways has constituted a high-level committee along with postponing the written examination of this recruitment. This committee constituted by the Railways has started working and candidates can register their problems before it by 16 February 2022. After this, this committee will submit its report to the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) on 4 March 2022. There are many controversies related to this recruitment:

The notification for this recruitment was issued by the Railways in March 2019 itself and it has been in controversy since then. In fact, about 1.15 crore candidates had applied online for Group D recruitment and out of these 5.11 lakh candidates’ application was canceled due to invalid photo or signature. However, later RRC asked the candidates to re-submit the canceled form. But, the application of 4.85 lakh candidates was again rejected. After this these candidates approached the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) and then the Railways allowed the candidates to make corrections in their photo and signature between 15 December 2021 to 26 December 2021.

Now the controversy is happening due to the change in the selection process:

There was a lot of delay in the selection of the first exam conducting agency for this recruitment, which is included in the country’s biggest recruitment, and after that due to the arrival of Corona, this recruitment got behind its scheduled time. Now that the new dates of the examination were announced after the outbreak of Corona gradually ended, the Railways has made this recruitment more controversial by suddenly changing the recruitment process. In fact, the Railways issued a notice on 24 January 2022 informing the candidates that in this recruitment, the candidates will now have to take part in CBT 2 after CBT 1. There was a lot of opposition to this decision by the candidates and in view of this, the Railways has constituted a high level committee to solve the problems of the students while postponing the examination.
