UPSC: This year the Union Public Service Commission, Civil Services Preliminary Examination of 2022 will be held on June 5. The last date for its application is 22 February 2022. This time there are 861 vacancies in the civil examination. The minimum age to appear in the exam is 21 years while the maximum age should be less than 32 years. The upper age limit is relaxable by three years for OBC category candidates, five years for SC/ST and 10 years for physically handicapped category candidates. The process of applying has started.
Indian Administrative Services (IAS), Indian Police Services (IPS) and Indian Foreign Services (IFS), Railway Group A (Indian Railway Accounts Service), Indian Postal Services, Indian Postal Service, Indian Trade Services among others through UPSC Civil Services Services are selected. Aspirants of UPSC Civil Services exam have to first appear in the prelims exam. The candidates who pass in this have to appear in the Mains exam. The candidates who pass in Mains reach the Interview. The final merit list is prepared on the basis of performance in interview and mains exam. Mains exam is of 1750 marks and interview is of 275 marks.

Application fee for the exam
The candidate will have to pay Rs 100 as application fee. Fee can be paid through Cash or NetBanking or MasterCard/Debit Card at any State Bank branch. The payment option will be available during the online application process. SC/ ST/ Physically Handicapped and Female candidates will not have to pay any fee.
Can withdraw application
If a candidate’s preparation is not complete, then he can withdraw his application. Application fee will not be refunded on withdrawal of application. The period of withdrawal of application will be between 1 March 2022 to 7 March 2022. The total number of chances to appear in the exam has been fixed at a maximum of 6. OBC candidates will be given 9 opportunities and there is no limit on the number of opportunities for SC/ST candidates.
