GATE 2022: A petition seeking postponement of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, GATE 2022, will be heard by the Supreme Court today. Significantly, on Wednesday, the Supreme Court had agreed to hear the petition. The counsel for the petitioners had sought a special mention in the matter before a three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice NV Ramanna. The petitioner’s counsel submitted that the GATE 2022 exam is scheduled to be held on Saturday, for which admit cards have also been issued. So please list it.
It has been said on behalf of the petitioner that about 9 lakh candidates are going to appear in the GATE 2022 examination in 200 examination centers across the country, but a clear guideline regarding Kovid-19 has not been issued for the examination. It has also been said in the petition that due to lack of clear guidelines, confusion is being created among the candidates.
Apart from this, it has also been said that the situation is not clear about which candidate is eligible to appear in the examination on legal and medical grounds and which is not. The petitioners say that asymptomatic candidates with mild symptoms have been allowed to appear in the examination, but Kovid-19 asymptomatic students are not allowed to sit.
