Scope
The Railway Ministry has issued an important information today. Railway Ministry said that those candidates will be given more preference in Group D recruitment of Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) LTPC and Railway Recruitment Commission. Those who have a Certificate of Trained Apprentice in Railway Establishments. This rule will be applicable on the minimum qualifying marks and medical standards. Railway has also shared detailed information regarding this on its official Twitter handle.
What is the dispute?
For some time, candidates with the qualification of Trained Apprentice were demanding direct recruitment in Railway establishments. Railway has given information in this matter. Railways has said that direct recruitment will not be given to apprentice candidates. They will have to clear the written test and physical test, only then they will be given appointment.
What is the reason?
The Railways said that as per the order of the Supreme Court, candidates cannot be given employment by any means other than through a fair selection process. Direct recruitment would be in violation of the order of the Supreme Court. Because of this apprentice candidates also have to go through written and physical test stage. However, they will be given relaxation in minimum qualifying marks and medical standards.
