Know who is Dr Vikas Divyakirti
Dr. Divyakirti is the founder of ‘Drishti IAS’ coaching institute. Born in a middle-class family in Haryana, Dr. Divyakirti’s parents were both professors of Hindi literature. That is why he has had an affinity for Hindi since childhood. His other subjects of interest are Philosophy, Psychology, Cinema Studies, Social Issues and Political Science. He has done MA, MPhil and PhD in Hindi Literature from Delhi University. Apart from this, he is also a post graduate in English to Hindi translation from Delhi University and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.
Dr. Vikas Divyakirti started his professional career by teaching at Delhi University. Dr. Divyakirti, in his very first attempt, cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination in the year 1996. After which he got an appointment in the Union Home Ministry. But there he could not work for long and after a year he resigned from his job. After which he established ‘Drishti IAS’ coaching institute in the year 1999. Its headquarter is at Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi. It has branches in Prayagraj and Jaipur. His wife Dr Tarun Verma is also the director of this coaching institute. Drishti IAS has more than 7 million subscribers on YouTube channel. At the same time, he has more than 7 lakh followers on Instagram.
Fight fought for Hindi medium students
Dr. Vikas Divyakirti has fought a lot for the students of Hindi medium. According to a report, when UPSC implemented CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) they stood with the agitating students. They believe that even today SAT model answers are available only in English language. There is very little material in Hindi or any other language for the students. Sometimes it doesn’t even get translated. Due to which the students have to face a lot of trouble.
