The Uniformed Personnel Selection Board has laid down certain rules in the written examination for the post of Police and Assistant Inspector.
Accordingly, it has been declared compulsory to pass the Tamil examination in the written examination for the post of Police. Therefore, the written test for the post of guard will be evaluated only if 40% marks are obtained in the Tamil language qualifying examination.
Thus the selection for the post of guard will take place in two papers. The Tamil exam will be conducted for 80 marks. It has been informed that you can go to the next round only if you pass with at least 40 percent marks in the Tamil exam.
Also the 2nd paper will be held as usual. That is, 50 questions will be asked in the general knowledge section and 30 questions in the psychology section.
Earlier, the Tamil Nadu government had announced a few months ago that it was mandatory to know the Tamil language to join government services in Tamil Nadu. It also said that the Tamil language paper has been made mandatory in all competitive examinations conducted by examination agencies in order to recruit 100% Tamil Nadu youth in all posts in Tamil Nadu government departments.
