UPSC Success Story: Lucky Chauhan prepared for UPSC with a job, became an IPS officer

It is not an easy thing to crack an exam like Civil Services. For this, it is advised to leave everything and study for at least 12 hours in a day. The name of Lucky Chauhan, an IPS officer of Tripura cadre, is included in those students who prepared for UPSC exam with a job and also became a rank holder. Lucky Chauhan, a resident of Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh, is currently posted as SP in Udaipur of Gomti district. Lucky Chauhan was born in Khurja village of Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. His father Rohtash Singh Chauhan is a property dealer, while mother Suman Lata Chauhan is a teacher.

Lucky’s father tells that she was promising in studies since childhood. Lucky Chauhan did 12th with Science. After this he again graduated in English Literature and History. After graduation, Lucky Chauhan got a government job and joined the Union Ministry as Assistant Welfare Administrator. His dream was to become an IPS and he decided to prepare for UPSC with a job.

According to the report of a news channel, when Lucky Chauhan was in nursery class, he secured first position in a competition. During that time the DM and SP had given him the award.

Lucky’s father, who received the award from DM, had told him that you too have to become SP or DM. This thing sat in Lucky’s mind and whenever someone asked her what she would become when she grew up, she used to repeat what her father had said.

To fulfill his father’s talk and his dream, Lucky started preparing for UPSC along with the job. In the UPSC examination 2012, Lucky fulfilled his and his father’s dream of becoming an IPS by securing 246 rank in All India.
